Your First Visit
Your initial visit will be a private appointment. Please allow 1½ hours for your first visit. We will thoroughly review your current medical condition and health history and determine a Chinese medical diagnosis, discuss with you a treatment plan and explain how acupuncture and herbal medicine may benefit your condition. You will be treated and there will be time to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.
If you have not downloaded and completed our new patient form please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete your paperwork, or bring the completed from with you and arrive 10 minutes early.
After reviewing your intake form, we will discuss your condition, and we will examine your pulse and tongue, which are two of the basic diagnostic methods of Oriental medicine. The acupuncture points we choose will depend on your condition. Once the needles are inserted, we will leave you to lie comfortably for 20-30 minutes with the needles in place. Many people find acupuncture treatment deeply relaxing, and it is not uncommon for patients to fall asleep during this time.
